The Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian collection, “Designs for Automobiles” explores cars from the mid-twentieth century that showcase both style and functionality. The process for creating the publication began with studying the typography, messaging, imagery, and color used within the Cooper Hewitt brand identity guidelines. The publication is created using the Cooper Hewitt logos and custom font. The best images from the collection were selected and dynamic layouts were created using a modular grid, visual hierarchy, scale, order, harmony, and balance.
